Saravana Bhavan founder Rajagopal who was serving life term for the abduction and murdering his employee, passed away at a private hospital. Rajagopal had many health complications and on July 15th he suffered a heart attack too.
Until Tuesday Rajagopal was getting treated at a government hospital. Rajagopal's son Saravanan and lawyer have appealed to the Madras High Court to shift him to a private hospital for better medication. Upon considering their request, Rajagopal was shifted to Vijaya hospital in Chennai. But in the last two days, his condition got worst and was put on ventilator support.
Rajagopal allegedly wanted to marry Jeevajyothi who his employee's wife. But as Jeevajyothi rejected Rajagopal's proposal, the latter murdered her husband Prince Santhakumar in the year 2001. A Sessions Court found Rajagopal as guilty in 2004 and imprisoned him for 10 years. Rajagopal appealed this in High Court and his penalty was increased to life-term in 2009.
